Wait For It ...

We're on day 31 of our 40 day series, journeying through the season of Lent.

Day 31

Our Bible reading for today is Psalm 27: 13 - 14 ...

I am certain that I will see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living. 14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and courageous. Wait for the Lord.

How good are you at waiting? Are you a patient waiter, or a grumbler?

It's so easy to have a lousy attitude about waiting, especially when God doesn't seem to be moving (or at least not in the way or time frame we think He should be).

But today's Bible reading reminds us that waiting isn't so much about waiting for the thing we're waiting for, as it's about Who we're waiting on.

David has total confidence that God will come through for him - so much so that even when he can't see how God will do it, he is certain of the Lord's goodness to him, and knows that he will experience God's favour.

Today, let's ask the Lord to still our restlessness, to cast out our doubts, and to fill us with His peace. Let's ask Him for a full measure of His security and patience, and let's ask the Holy Spirit to teach us to "Wait for the Lord" with strength and courage.
