Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Cor. 15: 57 - 58 NASB What an incredible promise this is! No matter what we face in life (and there will be challenges and difficulties in amongst the joy and successes) - we are ASSURED of victory!! When fear or doubt rise up to rattle us, we must believe that the Father's promises are true for US (not abstractly true, but personally true!). The devil is a liar and a thief - he loves to shake our confidence, throw us into despair and draw us into discouragement. He knows that a wobbly-faithed Christian can only just manage to stand still, if not take a few steps backwards. But the Lord invites us to trust Him, and stand on His Word, because He is immovable, unshakeable. I'm reminded of my first Argus Cycle Race … I was so tired by the time I got to the finish line (thanks, Suikerbossie!), that I literally couldn't keep myself upright, and so I very ungracefully swayed over to the left - fortunately against a high fence! The reason was that I was too exhausted to get my cleats out of my pedals - I might be going down, but my bike was determined to hold me up!! So, minus the toppling over part, this is the picture I have for us as Believers - when we lock our feet down firmly in the Rock, He gives us holy courage, peace, and faith. And then, instead of being shaken-up and wind-blown, falling over sideways, we can "abound in the work of the Lord", advancing and enlarging our faith and our service, and shining a light for others to see that the Lord is trustworthy and mighty to save!! Life isn't uninterrupted rainbows and cupcakes, and yet God's children are still called to victorious living. To trust in God in every situation. To be confident in Him, no matter what we face. Remember, God already has given you victory. Father, help us to be steadfast and immovable in our faith. We trust in You and believe You for victory in every circumstance. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Steadfast and immovable. I often forget this promise. God will never leave us as long as we trust in Him!
